We have reached a breaking point in our spring/summer season - yea!!! Although I am inundated with edits, it has been a remarkable couple of months - lots of eSessions, bridals, weddings, events and a little 'shh...' here and there! We are off to the mountains tomorrow afternoon, followed by a quick trip to Columbia for the 4th. While I would LOVE to shoot a wedding every weekend, I'm thoroughly going to enjoy the next couple of weekends with my family. WOOHOO!

Happy SUNDAY! Boy - do I feel like I was hit by a freight train. Swollen feet, sore back and shoulders ache from carrying gear all day long yesterday...BUT (insert BIG BUT), it is SO WORTH IT!!

While the twins nap and I back up images, I decided to throw this quick sneak peek up. What a F-A-B job the Weddings and the City girls did (Tiffany specifically) coming up with this idea.

Steve and I headed down last month to help kick-start Sarah's the big Bachelorette weekend with a "my, oh my" bridal session. OMGosh...what FUN we had!

We started early in the am and scooted all over town. A very, very special thanks to Kit at the Martin Gallery for allowing us to pop in and photograph in and around their gallery. Simply AH-Mazing!!! And props also go out to a little hottie by the name of Mike for coming out and escorting Sarah around in the Bike Taxi.

Sarah and Dan were married this past weekend and are currently off on their honeymoon in St. Maarten (jealous...Sarah, don't forget to head to Sunset Beach and experience the Jet BLAST!). We are in post production on their wedding day images now, but hold tight - they are on their way!

The bridal season has officially kicked off...and what a way to do so on April 4th over at the historic Lake Lure Inn! Beth and Chris said their, "I do's" in a mountainous fashion, surrounded by an intimate seventy or so guests.

Because we have embarked on this busy time of year, I've decided to keep the writing to a minimum (like it wasn't already...hehe...dudes, I can't write...I'm a visual storyteller!).

From the bottom of my heart - I thank the two of them. Their love for one another is evident and I'm tickled pink (actually, sage and powder blue...eww, I made a funny!) to have been part of their day.

And they called it puppy love...

Meet Chris...a Veterinarian. Meet Lindsey...a chic, uptown girl with country roots. Here is how it played out - girl has puppy, boy takes care of puppies, boy/girl meet because of puppy and the rest is history!

I was overjoyed when Lindsey was receptive to shooting at Coyote Joe's. You see, while it is extremely exciting for me to play with lighting and shoot in and around new locations, Lindsey grew up in this bar. Her father (along with a partner) have owned the establishment since 1991. I was in awe at first step. Immediately, I was drawn back to Texas and felt a little shimmer of being back in the Stockyards and two-stepping across that Billy Bob dance floor. Gosh...I really miss Texas! Anyway, I could have photographed the two of them there ALL DAY!

Every year, Janet Woodson of La tea Da's Catering and Events and Kristen Prestwood of By Design Events team up to throw one of our industry's largest gatherings. This years 'spring fling' was simply stunning. There are truly no words to describe Janet's remarkable sense of food presentation...it's untouchable (not to mention DELISH)! And Kristen...well, she pulled out all the stops. Hanging butterflies+custom gobo+beautiful uplighting=totally HOT! Todd Murphy with Stems provided the amazing centerpieces, Cyros ROCKED some of the BEST SUSHI EVER (can you tell I like sushi...love ya, Cy & Billy!), Party Reflections never fails to impress with their plethora of rental equipment, Cloud Nine Confections tempted everyone with their delecatable sweets, First Impressions stunned us with the latest in linen choices and moi...I got to capture it all!

So now...what are you waiting for?? Go throw a party - these guys are PHENOM!!

As I sit drinking my coffee, I am mesmerized by the of color blue that extends beyond infinity in front of me. All of my senses are on overload. The feeling the warm Carribbean breeze across my skin, the sounds of the little yellow birds chirping away, the gentle touch of palm trees swaying in the air and the serenity of what exclusivity really means.

Today is our last full day here - but it is a magical day! Sammi and Brent are set to marry in a seaside ceremony overlooking St. Maarten at sunset. I pray that they will have a life full of happiness and peace. What a way to start your life together!

Okay...so we are t-minus TWO days and counting until we leave for Anguilla, however I could not resist getting this blog post up prior to leaving.

Meet Beth and Chris. She is a nurse. He is a teacher. And they are avid baseball fans.

Of course in learning about this very important detail, it was clear that I had to capture them in their element. Knights Stadium graciously allowed us to spend a little time in and around the field (yup...Eddie made us stay off his impeccably groomed field). And while there wasn't one pitch thrown or the roar of a crowd, you would have never known it...Beth and Chris simply basked in their love for each other and their love of the game!

For me it was definitely bitter-sweet being back at the ole Castle...especially this time of year when 'spring' is in the air. I spent many hot summer nights under those stadium lights watching my husband pitch. And although I miss the thrill of those 0-2 counts and cute white pants (hehe), it is total bliss being home year round with him and our twins.

Thank you, Beth and Chris for allowing me to take a trip down memory lane! Can't wait to meet you up at Lake Lure...April 4th is right around the corner!

"Dress in the City" | HAYDEN OLIVIA BRIDAL

We were thrilled to get the call to be the exclusive photographer for Charlotte's unveiling of 'THE' dress! And while my evening was cut short because my baby girl came down very ill, I did manage to grab these prior to getting that heart-stopping phone call.

The great news...the show was a success and my daughter (and family for that matter) are well on the road to recovery! Praise GOD!! :)

The big night took place at Suite in the Epicenter, while Ivy Robinson stunned us with her vivacious style and design! Kudos to Jennifer Basara, who was instrumental in organizing the fantastic event for Hayden Olivia.

"Poor, poor Blog - please forgive me once again, for I have neglected you lately. I'm nursing my family back to health. That nasty rotavirus struck, but as of this morning I do see a light at the end of the tunnel."

I have been so anxious to post these images, however I'm doing so in volumes as I am playing 'catch-up' on many things.

This first volume was photographed at Capital Grill in Charlotte. Thank you so much, Lindsay Metzelaars (private events coordinator) for allowing us to utilize your beautiful restaurant. And Amanda Benson for rocking some F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S hair and makeup!

We could not be more excited for Lindsey + John's upcoming September wedding. As you can see, they are HUGE milk and cookie fan's. Hmmm...wonder if they'll incorporate that into their wedding?!?! :)

Charlotte ladies looking for their own “Carrie Bradshaw marries Big” moment will soon get their opportunity as Hayden Olivia Bridal hosts the gown in its Queen City appearance. Hayden Olivia is one of three select boutiques nationwide where the gown, designed by Vivienne Westwood in London, and donned by Sarah Jessica Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw in last summer’s movie, can be sampled and brides can be measured to place their custom-order for the dress.
Hayden Olivia Bridal will host a runway show at SUITE in the EpiCentre, featuring the Westwood gown along with the season’s top designer bridal gowns currently available at Hayden Olivia.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 5, and doors will open at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available for purchase at Hayden Olivia Bridal Salon, www.haydenolivia.com and SUITE, www.suitecharlotte.com. Proceeds from the event will benefit Dress for Success of Charlotte, http://dressforsuccess.org.

My husband Ken and I were able to scoot off to Asheville (thanks to the best mother-in-law in the world) to celebrate Valentine's Day. We first met up with Nicole and Ian of Verge Events for a little vino at their swanky studio, then headed off to the Smoochbooth Party at Corey McNabb's studio. Too fun!! It's a must see if you're considering a photobooth at your next event!

7. Kristin Vining Photography will absorb all studio incurred expenses (i.e. travel, accommodations, etc). WOW!
8. If the selected winner chooses to travel (i.e. Charleston bridal portrait, Vegas engagement session, Carribean wedding), winner will be responsible for their own travel expenses.
9. Winner will receive full coverage of shoot, online proofing and all high resolution digital files taken during the shoot as part of contest winnings. Prize values have an estimated value (inclusive of travel costs) of $2000-$8500. Additional items (i.e. proof books, storybooks, fine art prints, etc), will be available at current studio rates.
10. If referring name is not filled in the Personal Message Box, the friend request will be accepted however will not count towards the contest. This is a REQUIREMENT.
11. Contest is open to existing and new Facebook Friends.

ABA Conference

I am not an architectural photographer. Let me repeat. I am NOT an architectural photographer. However...when I got the call from Debra at Childress Klein Properties I was 100% up for the challenge. Charlotte hosted the ABA (American Bus Association) conference less than two weeks ago and I had the privilege of photographing the venue as a whole - no details, no people...just The Plaza & The Atrium. Tribble Creative Group did a fantastic job designing and orchestrating the entire event. I decided to share this with readers mainly because of the clear top tents Party Reflections set up. If you haven't considered this venue...do so! It's HOT! Okay Paris (I mean Kristin)...you did not just go there!

I literally wrapped my camera strap around my arm, laid on my belly and inched my way to the edge. It was a little nerve-racking, but I hand held that baby on an extended arm and fired away.

Please keep Cathy and Franco in your thoughts and prayers. BoBo passed away this past week and I know they are grieving terribly. Below is the original post written on October 20th...

The phone call went a little something like this, "Hey Kristin, this is Franco calling (insert the tears)." My heart DROPPED. He continued, "This doesn't have anything to do with our wedding. We just arrived home from the veterinarian. Our dog, Bobo, is not going to make it." My heart PLUMMETED! He simply asked, "We would like to have family pictures of us before he goes. We only have a short time left with him. Would you take them?"

"110% YES, I thought!"

Although I was not raised around animals (well, actually we had a couple of doberman's growing up)...still, for some reason I've never had a burning desire to own a pet (clearly I realize that is about to change as I know one day soon we'll be hearing, "Mommy PLEASE can we get a puppy, PLEASEEEEEEE!"). Cathy & Franco, on the otherhand, have had Bobo for 13 years (well, Cathy anyway). He actually travelled all the way from HONG KONG! Cathy described how he was just a baby when she first got him.

Please keep this precious, sweet couple in your thoughts and prayers. Bobo is a precious being of God that is suffering from nasty, cancerous tumors. After several opinions it was determined that they are too deep and inoperable.

Thank you, Cathy and Franco. I'm blessed to be part of this journey with YOU!

WHAT A CELEBRATION!!! Not only did Hart & Matt just get married, but they also just graduated with their phd's!! They are STILL in Costa Rica (yep, three weeks later) and I can't wait for them to return so that we can relive the big day!

I can't believe I haven't blogged since BEFORE Halloween...yikes! But I attribute it to lots of shooting (yeah, away from the mac), celebrating the holiday and FACEBOOK! A friend of mine recently referred to it as "CRACKBOOK" and I couldn't agree more!! I even uploaded these images to Facebook first - what's up with that??!! :)

I always LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when our clients first walk through the studio door, because I know WARDROBE SELECTION is first! And when I say, "bring the closet"...girls are BRINGING THE CLOSET!!!

We spent close to an hour playing with clothes before getting into hair and makeup. Kymm with Who's the Fairest rocked it! A quick trip to Nikko's (where Travis proposed) followed by a trip to the park with Bentley (precious puppy) and here is the result.

Studio... Newlyweds... Wine... Honeymoon talk... and WEDDING PICTURES is my idea of a perfect night out!

The conversation was endless last night. They just arrived home from Barbados, Beth is adjusting to the sound of her students calling her, Mrs. Kiser and Andy is battling an ear infection and bronchitis! POOR THING! Andy said the entire week prior to the wedding Beth stayed away in order to prevent Andy from catching her cold. But come wedding day, Beth decided to test their vows - in sickness and in health - and sealed their love at that altar with a BIG OLE' KISS!!! haha...okay, so I made that last part up - but Andy did speak up when that first kiss picture flashed across the screen and said, "that's where she got me sick!" Too precious!

Flowers. TODD CRAWFORD. Need I say more?

I vividly remember getting the phone call while shopping at Michaels. "Kristin, hey it's Jason (insert small talk) and I just got the pictures. WOW! They are ridiculous of Dawn. I told her that if I had to chose between the pictures or the porsche for my birthday, I would chose the PICTURES!"

Now - I realize that is probably not true, however to have images that I took compared to a PORSCHE is HOT!

Dawn - you did AMAZING! It was great hanging out, drinking wine and rockin' that camera! Also - a shout out to Heather at The Look for the fabulous makeup/hair/stylin'!

I received an email from my Aunt this morning in California with a link to a short film called, The Bridge. Both she and my uncle are devout Christians and active members at Saddleback Church where Pastor Rick Warren presides (also the author of The Purpose Driven Life).

Many days I awake to an inbox that includes a daily devotional. I take a moment (sometimes, less than that which is really ashame) and skim through it. However, this morning I skimmed... paused... clicked... STOPPED... then cried. I buried my face and quickly remembered the BIG PICTURE!

Hurry...Hurry...BLOG! BLOG! BLOG! My fingers can't type fast enough....

My husband I are attempting to implement a family routine on evenings in which I'm not shooting and my 5:30pm work cut-off is quickly approaching right now. GO...GO...GO...

Kim & Marcus were a BLAST!! I was introduced to Kim's infectious laugh (she is incredibly ticklish) and boy does it make for great pictures. LOVE IT!

They are set to marry next weekend at St. Peter's Catholic followed by a Ballantyne Resort reception. Can't wait to see these two tie the knot - they're SO in love!!!

Twins & Tights Oh My!

After giving it much thought, my husband and I decided that Bray and Addy are going to be Mickey and Minnie for Halloween. Here is a little clip of me making sure certain things were fitting okay. I caught the tail end of a pretty funny moment in our home. OH and PLEASE over look all the baby cages. Since they've become mobile, our home is BABY PROOF CENTRAL. I so miss my coffee table and foyer furniture - but better safe than sorry.

Tomorrow the twins start their first day of school at Hawthorne Lane United Methodist. It's pumpkin day & picture day. They are all set with their first little lunch boxes. Stay tuned for all the MILESTONE pix to come!

It never fails - every entry I start, I ALWAYS start with writer's block. Lord knows I'm not a writer! The first thing that comes to mind FREQUENTLY when starting is, "Again, we had a BLAST spending time with so & so." UGH - I'm visual not verbal! :)

Brooke is HOT - how is that? And Chris...well, he is head-over-heels in love with her. I love people in love!

We recently returned from NYC where we shot her bridal session (see previous blog entry) and wedding day was no different. She absolutely GLOWED!

She did a fantastic job planning her wedding and was brilliant in deciding to bring on the fabulous Weddings and the City team to wrap up the loose ends that weekend. Gosh it makes such a BIG DIFFERENCE when things are ORGANIZED!!! The family was relaxed, the vendors were on-time and the atmosphere was LOVE. Great job Cortenay & Tiffany!

A couple of nights ago I had the pleasure of sitting down and having a couple glasses of wine with a well-respected, amazingly talented photographer, Richard Israel. We shared so many beautiful stories with one another and a few times I found myself in utter awe of his life-time experiences.

I am so happy to call him a friend. He certainly has a unique niche in our market - shooting film (alongside of digital) is rare to find these days.

Catherine & Stuart - Charlotte eSession

I always light up when a prospective client comes into the studio with innovative ideas. Both Catherine and Stuart knew exactly what they wanted prior to even meeting, and after learning about them I was ON BOARD to participate!

Stuart is a local theater actor and Catherine a librarian. The combination of the two lead us to the Main Public Library followed by a FUN shoot at ImaginOn! So different! So quiet! So colorful! So FUN!!!

Wendy was married in early 2006, at which point I started shooting quick, romantic shots just before putting on the dress. Of course I longed for time and perfect lighting, unfortunately wedding day doesn't always allow for that. Regardless, here she is on wedding day...

Brooke - NYC Bridal Session!

FINALLY!!!! Brooke is married and currently honeymooning in Greece, so NOW I can post her bridal session images from NYC! Whew...been DYING TO!

Little words are needed to describe how Brooke lit up the camera - SIMPLY AMAZING! The camera adores her and it is quite evident below. From the moment we met she repeatedly told me how much she loved Audrey Hepburn and that whole era. It was then I knew we would need to pull off something significant - so we decided to NYC was it!

NY Bride called to say the dress was ready (hello - can you say, Cymbeline ROCKS). Amanda Benson was ready for hair & makeup (ummm...WOW). Flights were booked. Hotel was booked. GAME ON!

Brooke was a trooper! Walked MILES in those HOT, HOT shoes (you'll see more of those once I post wedding day images), rode the subway looking like a big ole' marshmallow (had to protect that dress - wrapped a white sheet several times around her) and managed to work that camera in front of The Plaza in 15 seconds (literally! before security asked us to leave)!

I'm dedicating this blog to MY HUSBAND! Eight years ago today, we tied the knot at the PIMA COUNTY COURTHOUSE! Yes, you heard me right - the PCC! How crazy is that!?!?!

Long and uninteresting story, but Ken was still playing ball and there just simply wasn't any time to plan a wedding. So - after arriving in Tucson, AZ for the start of an invitation only fall league camp, we woke early Monday, September 25th and headed down to get married. I donned a khaki skirt and polo shirt, Ken in his infamous wearing t-shirt and cargos. We asked a random attorney and police officer to act as witnesses (hello...important detail...sorry mom's and dad's), the judge asked Ken to remove his hat and I instantly started crying. I thought, "HOLY COW...am I REALLY doing it like this?!?!?! And Ken, you have the WORST case of hat head I've ever seen!"

To this day, I cannot tell you what I committed to - but it is the one of the BEST MEMORIES I have. It is COMPLETELY unique to us and reflective of how we live our lives...SPONTANEOUS! We've never been afraid of risk - feet first and we'll figure out the rest later!

I love my husband more today than yesterday. He is the most genuine, patient, kind-hearted man I know. He is the father of my precious babies - a stay-at-home daddy at that! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank The Lord above for blessing me with a thriving and healthy family. I feel like the richest woman alive!

I only intended on posting a couple of pictures, but as I started filtering through I couldn't narrow down so many special moments we've shared in the last year. Between dressing up as Santa to surprise his mom's 'Sister's Weekend', helping with photo shoots, his love for cooking and bonsai's, a glass of wine, a couple beers, his evident love for our children...ugh...can't stop crying! Had to do a SLIDESHOW!

I love you beyond words, punkin! Thank you for loving and sharing your life with me!

HOLY MOLY! Can you say, SUPERMODEL!?!?! Lindsay absolutely TORE UP the camera! Even Blake (her fiance) made a comment while changing wardrobe, "I didn't know I was marrying a supermodel!" HOW DARN SWEET IS THAT!

We are beyond thrilled to be part of their lives during this special time. There is a little talk about heading down the islands to shoot the bridal session...we'll see if it comes to fruition. Praying that we can work out the details.

Can't wait til May 30th at which point we'll see these hotties tie the knot!

Elle & Todd - NYC eSession!

These last two weeks have been a whirlwind of FUN! It started with my little pumpkins turning one of the 30th of August (pix coming soon I promise!), followed by an UNBELIEVABLY great time in NYC with two clients.

There will be a series of posts regarding NYC , but let us first start with Elle & Todd's eSession. Upon checking in to our posh Upper West Side penthouse, Todd & Elle greeted us with a yummy basket full of treats - including a couple bottles of champagne and vodka. The party instantly got started! We popped open a bottle to celebrate and from there it was off to the races. A quick hop on the red line down to the Financial District, followed by Times Square & Central Park.

Todd was AMAZINGLY creative and TOTALLY into the shoot (surprising, considering he is an investment banker!) And Elle - hellooooo - she's HOT and shines on camera. She is a fashionista from the word GO! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her!!!

We cannot wait to photograph their spring 2009 wedding at The Green in uptown Charlotte!

We've had such a blast working together. She has the most precious soul and might I add...a remarkably handsome husband; I swear he's a Baldwin.

We have been back and forth these last couple of days working on a variety of different post-production items when I received this quick email. It left me with warm fuzzy's all day!

Free to Succeed: David Jay

As a God-fearing Mom/Wife/Daughter/Friend/Business Owner/Photographer I am continually seeking balance and inspiration in my life. Last night I attending David Jay's, Free to Succeed workshop here in Charlotte and this morning I have a renewed sense of spirit and rejuvenation (which is exactly what I was hoping to gain).

This workshop was different in that it was all about the business side of photography, rather than shooting tricks & techniques - which I LOVE...Marketing! He quoted many authors, one of which particularly stood out...

Everyday we are all faced with new challenges & obstacles - some of which stop us dead in our track and threated our forward momentum. But these are the times which should be embraced - it's making us stronger!

The Joy of Motherhood...

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't look at my babies and life and thank God above for my blessings!

I have been procrastinating for some time in preparing for Bray & Addy's FIRST birthday party! Although it will be low key, my husband and I have been brainstorming unique theme ideas that the babies will find enjoyable (w/o overstimulating) and that the adults WILL find stimulating!

SO - what do we do? Pink for Addy, blue for Bray? BORING! Baseball for Bray (how fitting seeing that Daddy used to play for the White Sox), Ballerina's for Addy (no, Mommy wasn't a Prima)? DON'T THINK SO!

How about...

CLEMSON FOOTBALL?? My husband is an AVID (borderline certifiable) college football fan - especially his TIGERS! And guess what? Clemson kicks off against Alabama on the babies first birthday - HOW FUN! The last few months all I have been hearing him chant are the remaining months, days, minutes and seconds until the big Birthday Party (yeah right, babe...that's what you're counting down!)!! :)

That leads me to the point of this blog. I needed an image of them for their invitation. So Daddy stripped them naked (a little unnerving b/c Addy had not gone #2 yet), put little party hats on each of them, while I quickly aimed to capture the 'booty shot' so that I could coin their invites, "Let's Kick Some Butt!"

And although I did get the shot I was after, we were also greeted by this lovely LAST frame.

I love being a mommy!

Jamie & Josh - Just Married!

I have SO many things that I would LOVE to blog about ALL DAY LONG, however my days are a balancing act between shoots, weddings, edits, meetings, phone calls, family, etc, etc!!!! I'm just excited that I can find the extra little time to sit back, have a glass of wine and re-live all of these precious memories. Have I mentioned that I have the best job in the world? :)

Jamie and Josh are another couple that will FOREVER be part of my life. They willingly came to my home just weeks after the arrival of my twins (I'm SUCH a stickler for meeting in a professional environment). We talked weddings, family, business (they own a new independent pharmacy, Dilworth Drugs) and very interestingly talked about Josh's recovery from Leukemia. They are an amazing couple with a PHENOMENAL story. I hope to see them share their story with many others - SOON!

Wedding Day (of course) was quite emotional. The ceremony took place at St. Peter's Episcopal followed by a chic, uptown reception at Founders Hall. Our go-to makeup/hair company, The Look, had our girls and bride dazzling! By Design Events came in and provided all of the red hot lighting & draping. Classic Party Rentals delivered stunning chocolate pintuck linens while Elizabeth House Flowers topped them off with gorgeous floral and candle arrangements ("David...those roses were UNREAL...the most magnificant I've EVER seen)! We worked along side of SFS Productions and cannot wait to see the masterpiece that Scott creates. And last but not least - those Weddings and the City girls were OFF THE CHART amazing! Go Heather, Cortenay & Jill! Ya'll ROCK!

Okay - so I've seen & heard the "Who Let the Dogs Out" type of reception introduction music, but "The Simpsons" theme song is a new one! Josh and Jamie surprised their guests by having one of their groomsman voiceover the beginning of the song. Yes, they entered to, "The Rimany's..........!" SO GREAT! Josh being the 'foodie' that he is decided to have a sign also made up so that we could enjoy his dinner. Notice "The Simpsons" font as well!

We're off to NYC to shoot, shoot, shoot some "Brooke & the City" bridal shots!!!! Her Cymbeline dress recently arrived to NY Bride. After having seen Brooke in a few test shots, I immediately knew Charlotte wasn't our location. I suggested NYC and with pure excitement she shrilled, "Are you serious?" So, we're off to The City in September!

It never ceases to amaze me the locations we find in our own backyard. We photographed Jamie's bridal session just outside of the uptown area off of Freedom Drive at a sewer yard. Yes! A stinky, bug-ridden spot that provided us the most beautiful light. Jamie was such a trooper and was the first to embrace the location to get the images.

She and Josh were married this past weekend and are currently off in Costa Rica soaking up the rays! Wedding Day images coming soon!

One word - GROOMSMEN!! They were a HOOT! Kept me smiling all night - you'll see what I mean below. I just love a Show-Stopper!

Kaitlin was such a stunning bride...such poise and elegance. Ja was GQ all the way! The two of them together reminded me of Carolyn Bessette & JFK, Jr. Wonderfully traditional!

We started at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Historic Dilworth, followed by a reception at Providence Country Club. The flowers were perfect thanks to, The Place for Flowers.

OH...and as you can see, Kaitlin survived the La Bella Sposa debacle. She floated down that aisle!

Most churches do NOT allow flash photography during the ceremony, let alone allow a photographer at the front of the church. SO - when logistics allow, we set up a remote still camera. This is the result...

My family and I headed down to Columbia for some much needed R&R! I finally invested in a little point-n-shoot (Canon Powershot SD950), so that I wouldn't continue missing out on quick shots of the twins. Here I am playing around on our trip down to G&G Vining's.

Angie & Lee - JUST MARRIED!

The first time I met Angie at our uptown studio I KNEW we would connect right away! She was SO complimentary of all of our work and I in turn saw her as - simply put - a beautiful, blushing bride.

She has a fantastic sense of style and an undying love for her two wonderful children, Morgan & Landon. I have to admit, I did get a bit teary-eyed when I witnessed Angie looking at Morgan for the first time in her little dress. For some reason, I hit the fast-forward button in my mind and saw my own sweet baby Addyson years from now. It is then you realize... these are the moments that make this life here on earth absolute bliss!

I am remarkably blessed to be in a position in which others welcome me into their homes, lives, hearts and families! What could possibly be better!!

I have fallen in love with a beautiful family!

I first met Lindsey & her mom (Robin) just weeks before giving birth to my twins. I think they booked me out of pity...just kidding! Instantly there was a connection and I knew we were going to be in for a treat come wedding day.

I was blessed to be a little more part of the final planning details (through Weddings and the City), so I was able to get to know all of them on a much more intimate basis. Lindsey's dad (Two Beer, Tom) and her sister (Sarah) were a HOOT! And MOM - well, she designs and creates AMAZING jewelry!

I'm so thankful to have been part of all of the festivities. Hope you enjoy the images!

Yet again, I'm amazed at just how quickly time goes by. It seems not that long ago I was photographing Wendy (Koontz) walking down the aisle (April 2006) and now SHE IS HAVING A BABY!!!! Piper Elizabeth Koontz is due July 9th - please pray for a healthy, happy delivery and baby!

I have been toying for a while as to whether or not I wanted to venture into pre-natal photography. Well...I decided as long as it's UNIQUE, FUN and the mommy is ADVENTUROUS - WHY NOT??

Merrill & Jeff - JUST MARRIED!!!

Both Merrill & Jeff were SO refreshing to photograph! The love that they share is evident in their actions; telling all those who witnessed...this is a marriage that will last!

They did a few unique things - (1) saw each other before walking down the aisle - WHAT A MOMENT! (2) lined up all of their family portraits to be taken prior to the ceremony and (3) exited the reception in a HEARSE...yes - a HEARSE!! Merrill's family owns Gordon Funeral Home in Monroe, NC. I thought it was FANTASTIC!

Thank you so much, Merrill & Jeff! I wish you a lifetime of HAPPINESS!

I had the pleasure of photographing Angie & Lee's e-session AND Angie's children, Morgan & Landon! Since having babies last year, I TRULY have a greater sense of appreciation when capturing children...especially when they're in their element!

Angie & Lee are getting married on June 27th at St. Mary's Chapel followed by a Bentley's on 27 reception! Two + weeks and COUNTING - can't wait!! :)
